# Coordinate System Choice

By default, downloads use the source CRS (typically an MTM CSRS horizontal CRS and CGVD2013 vertical datum).

You can change the horizontal and vertical CRS independently. The dropdown lists only show CRS that are valid for all currently selected files (intersection of allowed transformations).

Notes:

* Changing either horizontal or vertical CRS triggers on-the-fly reprojection.
* Any reprojection leads to a LAS output; without reprojection and when LAZ is preferred, the tool delivers the native COPC (.laz).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.jakarto.com/guide-data-downloader/en/data-selection/coordinate-system-choice.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
